My parents were very young when I was born, so we went to live with my grandparents in Venezuela and then Miami, FL. At the age of 7 my family returned to Aruba to try to make it on our own. We moved around a lot, and ever since I was 15 I have had a part-time job. Even though we had difficult times, I always have had what I needed: the love and support of my family.
What do you want the judges to know about you?
I want the judges to know that I come from an island where Norms and Values are the keys in our life. I consider myself a determined, well-organized, very positive person with a sense of flexibility who is always looking for new challenges. One of the things I like about myself is that I don't have a problem adapting in new environments.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I grew up in a tow house near the center of Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. This was in a friendly family environment without any tension, full of joy and love and in every step of the way with my parents always there for me as well as the company of my little sister.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born and brought up in New Delhi, India. Being the youngest one in my family and the apple of my father's eye, I led a very protected life because of the huge age difference between me and my siblings; I was the fortunate pampered child. My father passed away when I was sixteen years old. My mother was devastated by my father's loss and that's when I learned how to be independent and I learnt how to not only look after me but also my mother.

Definitely dancing! I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. I still have my first pair of ballet shoes which I keep as a memory of my many years and passion for dancing. I am a very curious person and I love traveling the world, especially seeing musicals and visiting museums. Discovering different cultures and encountering new people are a constant source of inspiration for me and something I try to apply to my own dancing and teaching back in Japan.
What is your career ambition?
To open my own dance school in Tokyo! My mother runs a successful dance school outside of Tokyo and we plan to expand my family's love for the performing arts by opening an international dance school in Tokyo, the capital of Japan and a crossroads for many cultures. My plan is to hire teachers who speak a number of languages so that I can host students from around the world. Opening my own school will allow me to live and teach my passion for dancing while being an independent business woman.
Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born and raised with my younger brother in a small town called Shizuoka at the base of Mt. Fuji. Shizuoka enjoys a very mild climate and is also near the sea. As nuclear families have become the norm in Japanese society, I feel very fortunate to have been raised by both my parents and grandparents under the same roof. I grew up in a very supportive and loving family, always surrounded by many energetic people since part of my house served as my mother's dance school. Interestingly enough, my mother entered a local beauty pageant when she was in her twenties and, although I didn't pay much attention to it at the time, my maternal grandmother told me when I was a child that she wanted me to become Miss Japan before I turn 20.

What you see is what you get. Nothing is rehearsed about me. From the very beginning, I entered this competition with high-hopes and an unswerving determination to make this dream a reality.

I had a great childhood, i was born and raised in Christchurch NZ. Christchurch is a small city with the population round 400,000 people. Christchurch is called the garden city with many beautiful gardens, parks and historic building and the people here are great, Its a very safe place to be.I grew up with my twin sister, older sistet, mom and dad. I remember my childhood always fun and exciting, i travelled and went on hoildays with my family. I took part in alot of activities such as singing competitions, dancing, horseriding, sports. My sisters and i are extremely close and my mother is truley amazing who worked 3 jobs when she raised us to make sure we never went without. My dad is very supportive.

What I would like the judges to know about me is that I feel extremely positive about having the qualities that make a successful Miss Universe. To me the key qualities include, compassion, integrity, and humility. These qualities make me a great representative of my country, defying me as a true Kiwi girl enjoying New Zealand's diversity of opportunities which have enabled me to fulfill my ambitions as a career driven woman in the entertainment industry.

My career ambition is to conclude my university studies due the fact I'm follow the four year of the laws career. Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I raised in the city of Fernando de la Mora, close to Asuncion, the capital of my country and all weekends I moved to another city in the interior of the country, named Paraguari where my grandfathers lived. My childhood was very happy and the memories that I saved for that epoch of my live, constitute the essence of my current personality. Also, as I remain fatherless being a little baby with only 1 year, I received the double of love that a commom child can receive, being the adoration of my grandfathers, motther and uncles that had made their best effort to give me the maximum affection possible so I can feel less the absence of my father.

What I want the honourable judges to know about me is that I'm the "Singer Queen" of my country, due as a proffessional singer and ambassador of the beauty of my nation, is my personal wish to let all foreign people know, the beauties encountered in Paraguay, its arts, its people, traditions and specially, its sweet music. Also, I would like the judges to know that as fatherless I made many sacrifies and relegates, to progress in life and to be the strong and integrity woman I'm right now, honouring this way, my father's memory.

I was raised in a small, costal town. With beautiful mountainsides at the inland and beaches colliding with the Caribbean Sea. My childhood was a blissful one surrounded by the love and care of both my parents and two brothers in a very loving family oriented home. As the only female sibling, sportsmanship dominated my upbringing. My father developed the sportsmanship within me. They taught me moral values, to respect each one, to be grateful person in life and to have faith that has helped me through out life. Track and field and volleyball were constant disciplines in my life.

Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was raised in the very same home I live in presently. In my childhood, I used to climb trees and walk through drains with my group of friends who were my neighbours. I was a tomboy who loved to play with insects and run through the mud when it rained. It was a lovely and interesting childhood as I was not limited to Barbie dolls or My Little Pony toys. It definitely contributed to the woman I am now.
What do you want the judges to know about you?
When I was a young child, I was overweight; I was never the belle of the school. Because I am a passionate and determined person, I managed to change how I looked to make myself a happier person. Never did I dream that I would be standing right here representing Singapore in Miss Universe. I would love to use my personal experiences to motivate others to improve their situations. Describe where you were raised and what your childhood was like.
I was born in the Republic of Panama to military parents from the USA. As an infant, we moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Soon, thereafter, my parents bought a home in the small town of Clarksville, Tennessee, which is the place I have called home most of my life. I am an only child but was blessed to have my maternal grandmother Nana live with us since I was 9 months old. My family is very loving and supportive and has afforded me many opportunities to learn and grow and become the strong, independent woman I am today. |
